Modern centre in the middle of Poland

_resized_300x194_oto_9.jpg

Piotrkow Trybunalski is a city of 80,000 inhabitants with an area of 67,24 square kilometers, situated in the centre of Poland, near to the A-1 highway which runs along the western borders of the city. The city itself is strategically located on an intersection of the main Polish transit roads, which enables the inhabitants of Piotrkow and its visitors fast transit connections with such important Polish cities as Warsaw, Lodz, Krakow, Gdansk, Wroclaw and the SilesiaPoland’s largest railways that runs across the city), Piotrkow Trybunalski emerges an ideal place for investments connected with logistics. (Such renowned international companies like IKEA, Kaufland and ProLogis have already invested in the Piotrków region.)

gos2.jpgLocated in almost the geographical centre of Poland, Piotrkow is also the centre for various branches of modern industry (precise machine building, furniture, paper and glass), as well as thriving construction business. It was here that many successful companies found their seat, among them HÄRING (precise industry) - a well-known supplier of componentry for Mercedes-Daimler Chrysler, the Bosch Group, Volkswagen-Audi - and FMG PIOMA (mining machinery producer) - a respected manufacturer of heavy equipment for open and close-pit mines.

City's investment needs

Being a rapidly developing city with great potential for further growth, Piotrkow is in constant need of new investments. Having that in mind, the city joined the Lodz Special Economic Zone. As a result, during the last few years the Piotrkow region emerged as one of Europe’s largest centres for logistics, luring entrepreneurs with business possibilities created by the city’s strategic geographical position. (Part of Piotrkow’s contribution to the Zone is the area near to a crucial junction which connects national transit routes and A-1 highway with  the city’s transport system). This natural advantage of the region creates a potential for new enterprises, where investors will surly find favourable conditions for the development of their interests.

Consequently, wanting to ensure sufficient and high-standard lodging for new entrepreneurs, Piotrkow directs its efforts to enlarging the city’s hotel base. Two possible locations are already being taken into consideration – one in midtown (the project is currently in the first stages of development) and the other on the city outskirts, close to the artificial lake Bugaj. This particular area adjoining a picturesque forest is, in all likelihood, the future site of a modern hotel and conference centre.

Piotrkow’s strong bargaining chip is also its potential for providing specialized workforce, together with administering high quality services. The city maintains the important position of the province’s second largest academic centre, ensuring the region’s investors skilled graduates from a wide variety of majors. Additionally, the services provided by Piotrkow’s professional design offices, consultancy firms, building contractors and financial and insurance companies are constantly at the entrepreneurs’ disposal.

The most important current public investments.

· Upgrading the sewage treatment plant

· Construction of new tenement houses and the adaptation of existing buildings for housing purposes

· Modernization of the main thoroughfares

· Upgrading the security monitoring system, establishing night patrols of the Municipal Guard and additional ones of the Police

· City stadium modernization

· Creating new bicycle paths

· Building an artificial ice rink

· Creating a new seat for the Public Library

· Modernization of the seat of the Municipal Center of Culture for the purposes of Stefan Jaracz Theatre performances

· Restoration of the city’s many historic sites together with the adjacent areas (the so-called “Track of Many Cultures” project)

Taking advantage of the city’s potential

As it was said before, Piotrkow’s main strength is the aforementioned location in the centre of Poland on a strategic highway junction. Swedish giant IKEA was one of the first major investors to take advantage of this fact: it was here that this acclaimed furniture manufacturer built the company’s distribution center for the whole of Central Europe. Following in IKEA’s footsteps, ProLogis - an undisputed leader in logistics – chose the region for its investment in a grandiose logistic park. More areas similar to the ones put to use by the two aforesaid firms are already waiting for new investors. These large real-estates - apart from the advantage of being in the direct neighbourhood of important highways and arterial roads – can also make use of the availability of Piotrkow’s own airfield.

The region as an investor friendly environment

Apart from the above, Piotrkow’s status is additionally enriched by the city’s historic importance as the cradle of Polish parliamentarism. It is here that historic rulers of provinces met to decide upon the future of Poland, it is here where the first sessions of Polish court took place.

Yet, however important our glorious history may be to us - citizens of Piotrkow - it is the future of the city that we put stress on.

Thus creating suitable conditions for new investments - a part of our "City Development Strategy" – is, in many ways, Piotrkow’s priority number one. The city’s attitude towards creating entrepreneur friendly environment did not escape the establishment’s notice, as Piotrkow received many awards for its efforts.

Thorough researches conducted by the Market Economy Institute confirm that Piotrkow Trybunalski belongs to a small group of Polish cities where the cost of business activity for aspiring entrepreneurs is the lowest.
