Piotrków and film

film03.jpgPiotrków is the most favourite place for film makers. When the director of famous American film "Jakub Kłamca" was asked to explain the reason of choosing Piotrków for realisation he said "Before we start a film we go around and look for ideal places. Why Piotrków? Because it is charming place, it has unusual unique atmosphere" Similar opinion about the city has Robin Williams who play main part in the film - "... Such scenes as in Piotrków there are not even in Los Angeles...", "I am glad to be here, to play at Old Market Square, small streets and avenues in Piotrków".Piotrów Trybunalski was the scene for many films. The most famous besides "Jakub Kłamca"(by Peter Kassovitz) are:

"Przeprowadzki" (by Leszek Wosiewicz),
"Vabank" (by Juliusz Machulski),
"Uprowadzenie Agaty" (by Marek Piwowski),
"Przedwiośnie" (by Filip Bajon),
"Syzyfowe prace" (by Paweł Komorowski),
"Pan Tadeusz" (by Andrzej Wajda).

For cinema fans Piotrków Trybunalski is a special place. It is a favourite space for film makers. We can think why? Perhaps because Piotrków Trybunalski is the charming Polish town with its narrow streets and unique climate where perhaps life goes slower than somewhere else...

Inhabitants of the city many times plied walking parts. They could see work of actors and film directors. Once they observed the city was changing into a small town from the beginning of XX century or into a town from the Second World War another time.
We would like to put some photos presented our city as a place of colour:
